CA Trip

The kids and I have returned from visiting the Zoo in CA. We had a great time! Janell & I stayed up late talking many nights. It was as if we still lived down the road. It's always easy to pick up right where we left off. We packed a lot into our 8 day trip. Last year when we visited, we did so much sightseeing that we didn't have to spend all of our days doing that on this trip. It was nice to just hang out with the gang. We did visit Birch Aquarium in La Jolla and the San Diego Zoo. We also celebrated Beth's birthday at Pump It Up, went to the beach and Janell introduced us to Flyball.

The aquarium had a some hands on playing for the kids. They got to touch sea urchins, sea anemones and a sea cucumber (that was a weird feeling one!). We enjoyed a shark feeding show and another feeding show that involved a diver going into a large kelp tank to feed numerous fish. It was definitley entertaining. The zoo is always an entertaining visit. We ended up being there about 9 hours! We endured a lot of walking with a stroller of two girls uphill. Alec was able to help Auntie out with the pushing. Animals are so fun to watch, expecially the monkeys. We saw just about the whole zoo. We did, however, take advantage of the bus for the remaining half of the park. That was much easier!

Flyball was cool! I was surprised at how entertaining the dogs were. We exhausted the dogs with all of the running. The kids enjoyed learning how to run the dogs. Both of my kids ran several of the dogs, not just Abby & Eli. The kids would love to get to help at a tournament.

The kids had a great time together playing, staying up late and doing lots of giggling!!

I managed to help Janell do a little cleaning and rearranging before her hubby returns. It's always easier to help others throw away their stuff but not your own. :)

It was wonderful to reconnect with our friends and remember why the Lord gave us one another to lean on. Here are a few pictures from our time together.

It sure is hard to put our wonderful week into words, isn't it? :)
I really needed that visit to help ground me before Scott returns. Now I just have to get Katelynn off to Hawaii and clean up the house a little bit. Whew! 8 days left!
